Community Professional Loudspeakers has announced the winners of their first annual Online Video Contest.

The contest offered users the opportunity to create a short video about their favorite Community product or application, or to profile an installation they were particularly proud of. First announced in December 2009, the contest gained considerable interest during the 2010 NAMM Show in Anaheim in January 2010.

After reviewing a wide range of entries, the Grand Prize was awarded to Joe DiSabatino of JD Sound and Video in Chews Landing, New Jersey. DiSabatino’s installation profile of the Church of the Incarnation in Mantua, New Jersey featured four Community SLS920 three-way cabinets, augmented by a single SBS22 subwoofer. DiSabatino was awarded a full Community S-Series system featuring a pair of S-3294 three-way cabinets and two S-215S subwoofers.

Second Prize went to Charles Hatcher of Alpha Music in Lewisburg, West Virginia, whose profile of their recent installation project at the Ritz Theater in Hinton, West Virginia also featured the SLS920, along with an SBS45 subwoofer and a pair of i2W8 cabinets for front fill. Hatcher won a pair of S-Series S-1296 loudspeakers along with a pair of protective transport covers.

“We know that Community users are a wide and diverse group, and when we announced our video contest, we expected a wide and diverse range of entries,” remarked Julia Lee, Community’s Director of Marketing. “Needless to say, we weren’t disappointed. Ultimately, we focused more on storytelling and enthusiasm than on slick production, and these two entries really reflected what Community’s users are all about.”

Winners were notified by phone and the winning videos were posted to the Community Professional website, www.communitypro.com, and to Community’s You Tube Page.
